Ahead of tonight’s Champions League final Gareth Bale has said that none of Atletico Madrid’s players would make it into Real Madrid’s first team.

It was Bale that scored Real’s 4 – 1 extra time win in 2014, the victory which gave the club their tenth European Cup. But despite the fact that Atletico finished just two points behind Real in the La Liga this season he has said that not one of Diego Simeone’s team would get into the starting eleven at Real.

On the other hand, he also said that Saturday’s final will be a tough game and described the Atletico team as ‘physical’. He said that they defend very well and as a result Real will have to be “accurate in front of goal” to secure a victory.

Bale said that overall the team is “calm, enjoying training and working hard” and believes that they can win and lift their eleventh cup.

One area of concern for Real Madrid was Cristiano Ronaldo after he had to leave training on Tuesday due to injury. Ronaldo collapsed to the floor after competing with reserve goalkeeper for the ball but he was able to hobble off the pitch unassisted. Fortunately for the team after the training session he said it was due to nothing more than a dead leg and he will be fine for the final.

This is the fourteenth time that Real Madrid will play in the Champions League final and they have won the last four that they have played in.

Atletico Madrid have reached the final for the third time and lost their previous two finals. However, the team will be confident having defeated Real Madrid 0 – 1 in their last meeting in February this year.
