It has been reported that Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has undergone a medical examination at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of his £10.8 million transfer from Marseille.

The French U21 forward had the medical exam at Tottenham’s training ground at Hotspur Way and it is understood he also used the meeting to finalise the terms of a four year contract.

Tottenham has been interested in N’Koudou for a while after he caught their attention when they were scouting the Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi who was signed by Chelsea last month.

It was reported earlier in the week that the clubs had entered negotiations over N’Koudou but at the time it was thought that Marseille wanted to find a replacement player before making a deal. It is possible that Marseille had asked Spurs about the Cameroon international forward Clinton N’Jie.

At present it is thought that the two clubs are still holding talks about a permanent switch for N’Jie while he considers whether he wants to move or whether he would rather stay and fight for a first team place with Spurs.

Tottenham signed N’Jie for £12 million from Lyon last summer and had high hopes for the player; however, he missed most of his first season due to injury.

With Spurs now being close to completing the deal for N’Koudou and having already signed striker Vincent Janssen, N’Jie has been told that he will be facing an uphill struggle to achieve a regular place in the first team.

N’Koudou made 28 appearances for Marseille last season after he was signed in a £1 million deal from Nantes. He was among the 37 players that received votes in UEFA’s Best Player in Europe award which is decided by journalists from all 55 member nations.
