Joe Hart’s agent has said that the Manchester City goalkeeper, on loan to Torino this season, will have plenty of options when he decides on his long-term future at the end of this season.
Hart has said that his time at City has probably come to an end. It is known that the Serie A club are keen to retain the goalkeeper and there have been a number of Premier League sides, most recently Liverpool, that have been linked with the player.
Speaking to Sky Sports recently, Hart’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, said that they haven’t yet started discussions with City about next season.
“It [his future] is not something we’ve discussed with Manchester City,” Barnett said.
“There are plenty of conversations to be had with them, but there will be lots of options open to Joe because he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was speaking at a press conference to preview City’s FA Cup quarterfinal at Middlesbrough over the weekend when he said that Hart’s future will be determined in the summer.
“I have said many times we will explain about all the cases at the end of the season, the cases of the players that are here, the players who are happy or unhappy and the players who are on loan,” he said. “Joe is a player for Manchester City and we are going to decide at the end of the season.”
There have been reports in the British press that City may be prepared to loan Hart to Torino for a further season if they can complete a deal for the Italian club’s striker Andrea Belotti. Belotti is currently the top scorer in Serie A with 22 goals and has attracted the attention of Guardiola.
