With just over three weeks remaining of the transfer window, Arsenal are expected to sell players before they make any new signings. So far this summer the club has signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.

They now have 33 players in their senior squad and are looking to sell some players. Striker Lucas Perez is one of a number of players that clubs are interested in. Following the team’s victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield last weekend Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said, The number (in the squad) is too high. We will let some players go. Too much competition for places is detrimental, but not enough competition for places is detrimental as well. The team is no longer thought to be in active talks over Thomas Lemar at Monaco but they haven’t entirely ended their interest in him after they had a bid rejected in July.

Vadim Vasilyev, the Monaco vice-president has said that Lemar is staying but the club’s position has softened over recent weeks and now Barcelona are also interested in signing the attacker. Leonardo Jardim, the Monaco manager, said, It is important to keep all of our players who were important last season at the club.

But down the years it has been shown that is it not always possible to keep hold of your players and you know how our project works.Alexis Sanchez was watching form the stands when Arsenal won their first trophy of the new season but the team are convinced that he will stay with the club and see out his contract, which expires next summer.

When asked whether he would remain with Arsenal beyond this summer’s window Sanchez replied I don’t know. But with the transfer window ending on Thursday, August 31 it is looking increasingly likely that he’ll stay.
