According to a statement on their website the team has paid £2.73 million to buy the player back from Villarreal and have set a buy-out clause for the player at €50 million.
Last season Suarez scored four goals for Villarreal to help them towards their fourth place finish in La Liga.
Elsewhere Valencia has signed Fenerbahce winger Nani on a three year contract. The Portugal international, who played for Manchester United from 2007 to 2015, has demonstrated considerable skill during Euro 2016.
Nani has represented his country on 102 occasions and scored 21 goals including three at this summer’s European Championship where he has started in all five matches.
Stoke City has been interested in Nani in the past but never signed him. He returned to his home town club Sporting Lisbon on loan during the final season of his eight years at Old Trafford but decided against making the move permanent.
He spent the 2015-16 season playing at Fenerbahce where he scored 12 goals in 46 appearances before making the move to the Spanish league.
Details of the deal have not been made public by the club but there are reports in Spanish media that a transfer fee of around €8.5 million was paid.
The club released a statement which said, “Valencia Club de Futbol have reached an agreement with Portuguese international Luis Carlos Almeida – ‘Nani’ – for the player to join the club for the next three seasons.”
