Luis Enrique has said that he has “unwavering faith” that Barcelona can overcome the deficit against Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League match this week after they destroyed Celta Vigo 5 – 0 over the weekend.
He said that the team’s performance against Celta was one of the best in the last few months. Now they will be heading into the Champions League match 4 goals down but after a brace from Lionel Messi and goals from Neymar, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic returned them to the top of the La Liga table.
Speaking over the weekend Enrique said, “We have a tough tie now, a tie which has been lost beforehand in Paris, but if we do things well… We’ve never had the chance to come back before because we have never been in this position, so it will be a test of fire.”

No team has ever recovered from a 4 – 0 loss in Champions League history and Enrique has been reluctant to discuss what went wrong in that match. However, he has said that he has watched the game back numerous times to analyse it.
“It’s not normal that [we were] beaten so heavily on the scoreboard and in terms of play, but this is sport. You have to accept when the opposition is better. PSG were better, but I hope we can get them back.”
He went on to say that the team will take calculated risks and that he has absolute faith that the team can get back into the game.
His words will add to the supporters’ belief as will comments made by midfielder Ivan Rakitic over the weekend, “We’re going to see what happens. We’re going to give everything until the last minute. We hope we can produce a miracle.”
