Last week saw Juventus claim the Serie A title thanks to Roma’s defeat of Napoli but at the other end of the table Udinese remain on the brink of relegation after their 5 – 1 defeat to Torino.
The defeat means that Udinese is perilously close to the relegation zone and if Palermo can pull of a few more wins in the remaining games then Udinese could find themselves out of the Serie A next season.
Juventus’ title win was thanks to a late goal from Radja Nainggolan which saw Roma claim the narrow victory over Napoli last week. The result put Juventus 12 points clear of second placed Napoli with not enough games left for them to be caught.
It is the team’s fifth successive Serie A title and the win also sent Roma seven points clear of Inter Milan to secure them a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Juventus will now be looking to claim a domestic double ahead of the Coppa Italia final with AC Milan on May 21st. The team has been on an upwards trajectory under head coach Allegri and he is set to sign a new contract with the club.

Juventus’ hero Nainggolan has also been in the news this week as there are reports that he will not be transferring to Chelsea in the summer as previously thought. Instead it is thought that Miralem Pjanic may move to Bayern Munich as it is known that Carlo Ancelotti is very keen to take him. Pjanic has a €38 million clause in his contract which would allow him to leave Roma and it is thought that if he does then the team is likely to go after Ajax’s Riechedly Bazoer or Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic.
